So apparently they changed the address on yelp, rather than adding a new entry for the new location in the Dole Cannery, because my original review below was for the location downtown (which is now closed).
Anyway, we tried the Dole location the other day. We didn't enjoy the chocolate nearly as much, but I think I figured out the problem (other than a possible change in the base chocolate they're using)- it was too cold! We ate it right away, but we should've waited for it to warm up and soften a bit. The Kona Peaberry truffle was very good. I think they grind the coffee for it themselves (they sell coffee beans there)- it tasted very fresh and strong.
So, the moral of the story is, no matter how much you want instant chocolate gratification- let it warm up first!

Phillipe Padovani will talk your ear off. He is such a character. I enjoy hearing about his passion for chocolate and it certainly shows. My favorite is the chocolate covered nougat and pistachio. He says the nougat is from France. The candies are expensive, but if you are looking for a world-class chocolatier, look no further. He has made chocolates for presidents and the Dalai Lama. His little shoppe is next to Ballet Hawaii at the Dole Cannery shops. His shop hours are Monday through Friday 10:30am to 5 p-m, Saturdays are 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (I think).

BEST CHOCOLATE IN THE WORLD!!! Oh my gosh, I feel like my life has changed since encountering Padovani's chocolates. Each bite of his chocolates, I could definitely taste the high-cacoa content vs. the high sugar content. It's not too sweet. Varieties that I have tried are the Ka'u orange caramel, ginger ganache, truffle with congac champagne, kiawe honey, & orange peel. Each piece is $1.50 but well worth it. Your taste buds just won't forget the excstasy that these chocolates provide.
Also, when I went there, the owner, Phillipe Padovani, himself, was there to educate me on the finest ingredients that are used in his products. He was super friendly & he definitely knows his chocolates.
